With the advent of the Novel Corona Virus or COVID 19, the work style of many countries has gone through a change. As social gatherings have been strictly prohibited, the employees are bound to Work from Home. The concept of work from home is pretty simple, the employees have to stay in the comfort of their houses and complete the work assigned to them over the internet. Work from home jobs can be of various types, auditing to architectural designing.

Almost all jobs other than those involving manual-labor can be done staying within the comfort of our home. Sounds easy? Well, it actually is, but there is something we need to consider, as said by the renowned author Charles Dickens - Minds, like bodies, will often fall into a pimpled, ill-conditioned state from mere excess of comfort. Yes, when we get excess comfort our minds become sloppy. Our ability to concentrate and focus upon a work fails us thus leading to a decrease in overall productivity. Here I am going to discuss the actual challenges that we face while working from home.

Imagine you are trying hard to concentrate upon your work and your annoying cousin barges into the room without knocking or imagine this, you are trying hard to complete your assignment before deadline and all of a sudden your annoying neighbor switches on the home theatre at full volume with the hope of shaking up the whole neighborhood. Does it not sound disturbing ? Well, situations like this can cause problems and decrease our productivity while working from home.

In the office we are accustomed to working under constant supervision, when we try to do the same work at home it stays in our mind that there is no time limit. I can stretch a work of 1 hour to 3 to 4 hours. This promotes a casual attitude in us and we tend to be lazy. Thus sitting for long hours may amount to lesser results.

For some people, working from home may create an always-on mindset which may lead them to work too long and too hard. Thus it can have derogatory results on the health of that person. Working for too long may cause strain for the eyes and can lead to sleeplessness at night or severe headaches. Working for too long sitting in the same posture can cause problems in the spine. A workaholic often has problems in maintaining a good relationship with other members of the family, especially with their spouse.

For some people the office environment tends to provide a homely feeling, meeting with other employees getting work done together, after hour party and discussion on various matters provide them with a sense of satisfaction. This type of person will feel bored or isolated if he is separated from that environment. This feeling of boredom and isolation can lead to a decrease in productivity and a lack of concentration.

Everything has got it s own set of Pros and Cons so these are some of the challenges that we may face nowadays while working from our homes.
