In previous post on this blog, I discussed how important it is for a business to have an online store. Today we are going to talk about the other side of the coin: corporate websites.
Every serious company should have a corporate website. The explanation for this is very simple: we must defend our brand or branding if we want to consolidate ourselves on the Internet. It can not be that the first thing that comes out in Google when we write the name of the company is the yellow pages or comments in forums of what someone thinks about your business. We could say that corporate websites are those that serve to give information about the company's brand. They are not oriented to the sale of products, but to provide information about you and defend the image of your company in the online market.
If you have different businesses, this is easy to understand. Example: you are setting up a publishing group, and you have an online book store, on the one hand, a publication services page on the other, and a digital literary magazine or newspaper on the other. Each page has its own name and brand, aimed at its target audience, but they all belong to the same company. This company should have a corporate website from which the different branches of the business could be accessed. We are not talking about a blog or an online store, although you can integrate both types of web pages into your menu. But for us to talk about a corporate website, it should have at least the following elements.
Who we are: who is the director, positions of the different departments, contact e-mails, with his photograph, etc. History of the company: how it all started, how you had the idea, what was the first business idea, how you grew, etc. Values: the policy, added value, or business philosophy. Departments: if you have subsidiary companies, different brands, business lines, and departments, each should have its own space. Address: where they can go to see you, company photos, with a nice street map, etc. Contact: most important, without a doubt. How can clients, suppliers, or negotiators contact you? Phones, emails, social networks.
You will discover that many web developers make pages in a flash. They put an excellent slider on the central page, and as soon as you enter, you are speechless. However, you are going to find lots of corporate websites, even from well-known and severe companies, which take a long time to load, do not open well in different browsers, or directly have an unfortunate design.
If what you need is an excellent web developer, you should pay close attention to these aspects so that nobody deceives you. By the way, if you still don't know what the characteristics of a good website are, I invite you to read the article right now: How to create a professional website? And I hope to clear your doubts.
I hope you are one of those who want to take care of their image on the Internet with a professional corporate website. If so, I invite you to leave me your doubts in the comments and share this article with your friends and followers.
