We are already in the middle of summer, and during this free time of COVID - 19 pandemic, many tourists discover that business management in hotels is not always the most desired. Many hotel companies do not have the specific software to be competitive enough in an environment as extremely wild as tourism.

The main inconvenience of a computer type comes to mind from the moment the client makes the reservation. The logical thing is that many leads back down due to the slowness of the process and the lack of automated procedures. But also during the stay, when organizational failures are detected that leave customers unsatisfied, or when the reservation is finished, and inconveniences occur. In this article, I would like to highlight some types of software as they can be very useful to hotels and which I think should be implemented as soon as possible if one aspires to be competitive in the world in which we operate.

1. Online reservation system: Unlike conventional websites, a good hotel would need a reservation software that would make the check-in process faster. What happens in many hotels? That each person who wants to reserve a room must contact by e-mail to get their accommodation, thus making the purchase process slower: exchange of e-mails, delays in payments, overlaps between clients who want the same room, etc. A computer application with integrated virtual POS would allow customers to reserve their room online, pay for the reservation on the spot and automatically cancel the room on the web and sign up for the company's billing and accounting in real-time.

2. POS software for hotels: Unlike conventional POS software, a hotel has specific needs. It is necessary to distinguish between single and double rooms, floor, Internet connection if the room has a terrace or not if the client has ordered breakfast, and many other organizational specifications. In such cases, it is best to have good POS software for hotels that can facilitate the task of employees (receptionist, concierge, etc.) and make purchasing operations faster.

3. Classroom management: Unlike companies that use hospitality software, some hotels are characterized by having several rooms for different purposes: meals, cafeteria, holding events and conferences, etc. Each room must incorporate adequate software for the management of orders and billing, but that can be integrated into the hotel's accounting if the establishment belongs to it.

4. Management programs: Although hotel companies can use a generic management program, they sometimes have very specific needs and want a computer program that allows them to manage the warehouse, accounting, and billing. Without going any further, the management of collections to companies and agencies with which you work.

Far from what you might think, software development is not only suitable for large hotels, but also for the small hotel that wants to optimize its business so that its customers are satisfied and can cope with the workload through automatic processes.
