Our online virtual store will consist of a website where the products or services of our company will be exposed and explained. The ultimate goal of our portal will be to ensure that our virtual store achieves its main objective, which is none other than selling online. For this reason, three fundamental steps should be taken into account when creating an online store: deciding what we will offer, decide who will create the website, and choose where we will locate it.

In search of new ideas: It is convenient to carefully browse the Internet to see what other virtual stores are like, especially those that compete in the sector in which we intend to enter. In this sense, it will be very useful to analyze those windows that we like the most and write down the elements that we would like our virtual store to have. As we browse, a multitude of ideas will start to come to mind about how to organize our website, how many pages it will need, what graphics it will include, or what type of ordering system will be the most appropriate. Once we have a general idea, we can make a sketch with the main elements that our online virtual store will have.

Raising the building: The next step will be to decide who will be the architect of our web portal. Obviously, the cheapest method is to build it yourself, but we may not have enough knowledge. In this sense, there are many programs dedicated to creating web pages as well as HTML programming guides that can help us if we do not have too much money for the design of our virtual store. Another not inconsiderable possibility will be that we are the ones who carry out the basic design of our virtual store and then ask for help from specialists to create the scripts or put in place an efficient ordering system.

Choosing a server: The last step before welcoming our virtual store will be to decide on which Internet server, ISP we will locate our website. In this sense, there are three basic options to consider the following.

Use the same ISP with which we have contracted our email account: this is the option most used by those who do not have abundant financial resources, although it forces them to forgo the inclusion of large amounts of video, sound, or graphic files.

Hire a different ISP for our online virtual store: For a little more money, we will have the possibility of having a more attractive web portal, in which we do not have to worry about the available space continuously.

Set up our own server: This option is only recommended for companies that can afford to maintain their own IT department or for those who have extensive knowledge of web page design.
